I've had this monitor as well as another LG for one year and three years respectively. I have never had a failure, ever a burp, nothing,.. nada.... zip. The LG monitors are some of the best for the price that I have found. I've been in the software engineering business for 20 years and the resolution, colors and contrast are excellent. |

Pros: Very low power consumption and minimal heat output. Very bright Instant on to max brightness - no 'warm up' as in standard LCD backlighting. Very light and thin compared to regular LCD monitors |
Problems: Cons: For professional image editing purposes, this monitor came with a slight yellow bias that could not be re-calibrated, even with the combined monitor hardware color controls and video card software color controls.
It also had a slight darkening of the lower right of the panel.
Because of such high resolution in a 21.5" form factor, all on screen fonts and controls become very small. This can be somewhat remedied by using XP's crude "large fonts" option. Hopefully Windows 7 offers a better UI adaptability, or else a user can expect eyestrain. The same issue applies to web browsing - the current state of web development means web pages don't even occupy 2/3's of the screen.
The monitor stand where it connects to the plastic foot plate is weak and not level.
For gaming and HD movie viewing, this monitor is quite good, but as a general desktop monitor I now consider 1440x900 resolution to be a better choice.
