The monitor gives a clear and good image, and the performance of this monitor would serve as a recommendation to buy one.
HOWEVER, there are serious problems with the way this monitor functions, and Philips needs to address these problems before I can give any recommendation. |
Problems: There seems to be a problem with the firmware. I bought the monitor in January, and approx. 2 months later suddenly the monitor began to calibrate itself spontaneously, and sometimes upon starting the computer no image would show up. The spontaneous auto adjustment of the settings began to appear more frequently, with the monitor sometimes calibrating itself more than 20 times in a row. After a while the monitor locked itself, and instead of the auto adjustment message the message that the monitor controls were locked began to appear constantly.
I contacted Philips about the problem, and the monitor was changed for another monitor, same model. Guess what? Almost two months later the exact same problem is appearing, and after contacting Philips again this monitor now also will be changed for another. I asked if Philips was aware of a possible problem with the firmware, which is not the case. But I would be careful if you want to spend your money on this monitor, because if two monitors of the same model show the exact same problems, then something must be wrong with the model internally. |
